On the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, you can join with others to enjoy playing traditional Irish tunes at slow tempos. These sessions are a great opportunity to enjoy making music in good company. The tempos are slow, suited for learning the tunes, getting started on an instrument, or for those who just prefer playing at a slow tempo. The sessions are free, and both are located in the Portland, Oregon area.
These sessions are closely connected with TrailJams and with the Tune Explorer Sessions. For most of the tunes played, sheet music and recordings are available from the TrailJams website and from the Tune Explorer Session materials. For many of the tunes there are Soundslice tutorials available in the TrailJams Tune Camp library.
The tunes are also taught in the Tune Explorer Sessions. The Tune Explorer Tunebook 1 contains sheet music for 52 tunes that are likely to come up in the sessions. It is a digital book (a PDF file) that you can view and download. Link: TE Tunebook
