Slides: The Cúil Aodha Slide (Connie Walsh’s) / The Brosna Slide / Dingle Regatta

A set (medley) of three traditional Irish slides. In Irish music traditions, tunes are typically played in sets like this one. About the Name of the Set
Why “River to Regatta?” The villages of Brosna and Cúil Aodha each have associated rivers whose waters flow westward to the Atlantic. The River Brosna flows into the River Laune, then into Castlemaine Harbour, just south of Dingle Bay. The River Sullane, which begins near Cúil Aodha, flows into the River Lee and onward to Cork Harbour and the Celtic Sea. Together they trace a path from inland streams to the coastal waters where regattas are held.
